Offshore: Most of the pelagic species such as Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Wahoo and Sailfish can be caught in 120-300 feet of water (about 2-4 miles offshore pending location). Live bating or trolling in a S pattern between these depths can be very productive. For those who are more adventurous. Great fishing can be found around weed lines or Temperature breaks in deeper water up to 15 miles or more offshore
Nearshore: Reef fish such as Snappers, Groupers and Cobia can be found on reefs in 55-120 feet of water. Many people fish the Jupiter 120ft ledge so that they can have some lines on the bottom for the Reef fish and some lines on top for the blue water / Pelagic fish. Live bait is always the 1st choice but frozen sardines, Squid and vertical jigs can also be productive.
Inshore: Jetties, Bridges and Docks can all be productive if the tide is right. Some say high incoming/outgoing is best. Some say low incoming or outgoing is best. But most agree that slack tide is the worst. So try to find areas with a nice current from the changing tides. The best inshore bait is live shrimp!
